Moan of the Day – Saturday

Why is it that television adverts are often double the volume of the programme that they interrupt??  Is it beyond their intelligence to have the volume at the same level??  Do they not realize that it just alienates people against buying things?

Turn the volume of adverts down.

Years ago I read that the volume is actually not higher, it only feels like it because the type of sounds in adverts is usually different from the ones in the movie you were just watching – lots of music, hectic voices etc.
I have another proposal: Don’t watch television 🙂

      • but I would bet you money that the volume of some advert IS higher, and sometimes much higher. I guess that it is a deliberate tactic to make you sit up and notice, but it has the opposite effect.

    Dear Jerry,
the reason is, that you still able to hear every word of it, when you are sitting on the toilet 🙂
