Photo of the Day Sunday 1st July 2012 – Not the Quality Spa Resort Hotel
Thought for the day…..” If you think nobody cares whether you’re alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments. “
Off to Switzerland today for the photo, and picture of the instruments of a French-built Aerospatiale Lama helicopter. As you can see from the photo, it is not a new helicopter (the original design is from 1969) but it has proved to be fantastic at high altitudes and in mountains. The Lama helicopter once held the helicopter record for altitude, flying to over 40 000 feet/13442m. This particular helicopter is now part of the Air Zermatt fleet in Zermatt, carrying both climbers, tourists and goods around the area. Well worth a trip if you are in the Zermatt area, as the views of the valleys, the Matterhorn and the Alps are absolutely fantastic. The photo was taken heading down the valley from Zermatt, just about to climb through 6400 feet.
Happy not to be working at the Quality Spa Resort Hotel in Norefjell, and not missing the managers there at all.
