Photo of the Day Monday 30th July 2012 – Not the Quality Spa Resort Hotel, Norefjell.
Thought for the day…” History is a gallery of pictures in which there are few originals and many copies. ”
Today’s photo comes from Morocco and the city of Fez. Deep in the medina or old town you will find this famous area of dye pots. In the first pots the skins are soaked to remove the hair using a lime solution, then the skins are degreased, desalted and are soaked in water before being tanned using a mixture of tannins, urine and dung. As you can guess, the smell around these places is far from pleasant, especially on a hot Morccan summer day !!
Happy not to be working at the Quality Spa Resort Hotel, Norefjell, and not missing the managers at all.
