Photo of the Day Saturday 29th December 2012 – Not the Quality Spa Resort Hotel, Norefjell.
Thought for the day…” An apple a day will keep ANYONE away if thrown hard enough”.
” If you want to fly then you have to let go of the things that hold you down”.
Amazing what you can find on the internet. Apparently there is one man who visited the moon, and who stayed there. In 1999, following his death in a car accident, the ashes of Dr. Eugene Merle Shoemaker, a planetary geologist who discovered comets and asteroids, were left at the south pole of the moon by an ‘unmanned’ space mission, so he became the only person to have stayed on the moon!!
Also more trivia from the internet….did you know that there is a species of ant and also a species of spider named after Harrison Ford, the actor? And did you know that 7-Up once contained Lithium? Originally called “Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda” it was marketed as a hangover cure, before the name was shorted to 7-Up. Lithium was removed from the drink in 1950 though.
Into Rwanda for the photo today, and to the town of Gisenyi, where the water delivery is arriving. Rwanda is mountainous and hilly (the highest is 4507m), with coffee and tea being the main export crops. The population is abour 11.5 million people, and is apparently the most densely populated country in Africa.
