Photo of the Day Tuesday 9th April 2013 – Not the Quality Spa Resort Hotel, Norefjell
Thought for the day….” The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strenght from distress, and grows brave by reflection”.
” A smile is happiness that you will find right under your nose”.
Good blue sky for the photo today and a shot of the RNZAF Red Checkers display team, flying as usual, their CT4 Air Trainers. The pilots are made up of RNZAF flying instructors and are now based at Ohakea. During the initial pull up of a loop, the pilots will experience about 3Gs, whereas at the top of the loop (as in the photo) 0.5 Gs are typical before the G forces increase again on the descent. With practice a pilot can withstand around 6 or 7 Gs of force before ‘blacking out’, although fighter pilots will wear special suits to reduce the forces. At around -3 G, most pilots will experience ‘red out’.
