Thought for the day….” Don’t cry over the past – It’s Gone
Don’t stress about the Future- It hasn’t happened yet
Live the present moment – Make it beautiful.”
Did you know that Alexandra Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone, refused to have a one his office? Apparently, after inventing it, he said that it disturbed is research work and prevented him from working properly. He also never telephoned his wife or mother, as both of them were deaf.
Thought for the day….” In this world people may throw stones in the path of your success, it depends on you ….. What you make from them …… a wall or a bridge.”
The photo today was taken in Helsinki, Finland and shows the Christmas market in front of the cathedral. Christmas markets go back to the Middle Ages, and originated in Germany, although Wien in Austria had a December market as early as 1294. Best thing in this market in Helsinki is the good, strong Finnish coffee. Coffee is actually a fruit and is the second most traded commodity in the world (oil is the first). Also interesting is that in 1475 a Turkish law was enacted that made it legal for a woman to divorce her husband if he failed to provide her with her daily quota of coffee. Brazil accounts for almost 1/3 of the world’s coffee production, producing over 3-1/3 billion pounds of coffee each year. Finland leads the world for coffee consumption per capita, with the annual intake of 12kg per person (Norway and Iceland are number 2/3). Compare that to Argentina which only consumers 1kg/capita. And for tea, United Arab Emirates leads the world, with 6.24kg/capita.
But the coffee in Finland is good !!
