Thought for the day….” A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.”
Today’s photo comes from Namibia (population about 2.1 million), which has been independant since 1990. The capital is Windhoek, with tourism, mining and agriculture being the main industries in Namibia. It was once a German colony, when it was known as South West Africa. Malaria and AIDS are big problems here, resulting in an average life expectancy of around 52 years. Tourists still come here for the safaris, but probably not to see the world’s largest uranium mine, which is found in Namibia. Around 75% of the country is desert, and the photo is of one of the famous parts.
