Thought for the day….” You cannot make your candle glow brighter by blowing out the other guys’.”

Not many days now until Christmas, but this year, it does not seem as crazy as normal.  Did you know that Four is the only number that has the same amount of letters as its actual value.

And did you know that a Rubik’s cube has 43,252,003, 274,489,856,000 possible combinations.  Or that it cost 7 million dollars to build the Titanic but 200 milion dollars to make a film about it.

A colourful photo from Nicaragua today, and a toffee apple seller in one of the rural towns.  Nicaragua has a population of about 6 million with 1/4 of them living in the capital Managua.  Much of the country is volcanic, and earthquakes are common.  Agriculture is the main export, but poverty is a major problem in the country.  It always pays to keep the camera ready for photos like this one.

Thought for the day…” Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak. ”

I am still battling with DB Schenker to get my new cycle delivered.  It seems that nobody at DB Schenker wants to do anything, and even getting an email reply now is almost impossible.   So the cycle may well be on its way back to Germany just because stupid DB Schenker will not deliver the last few kilometres in Sweden.  It will probably end up in a court case next week.

Off to Central America today for the photo, and to Nicaragua.   With a population of about 6 million, it is slowly being discovered by tourists, who come to visit the beaches, volcanoes and cities like Granada and Leon.   About a quarter of the population live int he capital, Managua.   Unemployment and poverty are big problems here, although revenue from tourism and the money sent back by Nicaraguans working abroad is improving the situation.

The photo today was taken in the city of Leon at one of the many fiestas, slightly unusual !!!
